Description

This division includes the smelting and refining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from ores, pig-iron or scrap, using electrometallurgical processes and other metallurgical techniques. This division also includes the manufacture of metal alloys and superalloys by integrating other chemical elements with pure metals. The result of cast iron and refining, usually in the form of ingots, is used in rolling, stretching and extrusion operations to make plates, sheets, strips, bars, rods, wire or tubes, pipes, hollow profiles and, in molten form, to manufacture metal parts and other basic products.
